Dear Moraga Neighbor,
Moraga is an exceptional place to live with its stunning scenic beauty, great schools, and safe community. After serving you as a Moraga Town Councilmember and Mayor during the past four years, I’m seeking re-election to protect these values and to help finish the job on several important goals.
Most importantly, I want to ensure that the Town adopts new, lasting, and effective protections for Moraga’s remaining hillsides, ridgelines, and open spaces. This process is well underway and should be completed next year.
I also want to put in place a comprehensive long-term strategy for Moraga’s capital projects, including storm drain repair and maintenance. Measure K has been a great success, but more is necessary to address Moraga’s infrastructure needs.
I continue to support in-fill development to revitalize our downtown areas, but recent projects have made clear that development standards in the Moraga Center Specific Plan (MCSP) area need to be strengthened. New construction should blend unobtrusively with existing areas, and above all, preserve the semi-rural atmosphere of the town. While Mayor, I supported creation of a Town sub-committee which is reviewing the MCSP and will soon bring proposed revisions to the full Council. I look forward to this opportunity to clarify and strengthen the MCSP so the Town has the tools needed to ensure that future construction preserves our small-town feel.
I thank you for visiting my website, and hope you’ll explore it further for additional information on my goals, qualifications, and accomplishments as your Moraga Town Councilmember.
I respectfully ask for your vote on November 8.
