It’s been my honor to serve you as a Moraga Town Councilmember and Mayor during the past four years.
My most fundamental goal as a Councilmember hasn’t changed: To protect Moraga’s beautiful open space from overdevelopment and preserve its unique small-town character.
The Town is currently updating its hillside and ridgeline development policies and will soon adopt new regulations. Public comments during this process have been loud and clear in favor of stronger protection for these important open space areas. I’ve consistently advocated for open space preservation throughout my terms on the Planning Commission and Town Council, and I look forward to this upcoming opportunity to enact lasting regulations that reflect these community values.
If re-elected, I also pledge to:
Strengthen and clarify development standards in the Moraga Center Specific Plan to ensure that future development preserves our semi-rural atmosphere while helping to revitalize this area;
Approve only balanced budgets and develop effective strategies to fund maintenance of Town assets including storm drains. Measure K has been a terrific success, but more is needed to address long-term infrastructure needs;
Build on recent improvements at Rheem Shopping Center and support local businesses;
Support our schools and youth programs, and continue productive collaboration with the Moraga School District and Saint Mary’s College to make sports facilities more available to Moraga children.
As your Councilmember, I’ll continue to hear and respect your input, while working to safeguard Moraga’s exceptional beauty, safety, and outstanding quality of life.
I respectfully ask for your vote.
